than a quarter of adult and child psychiatric beds in England and
Wales are being provided by the private and voluntary sector.
This is one of dozens of key mental health statistics documented
in a new book.
Entitled Fundamental Facts, the £30 book lists statistics
under 26 categories, such as the prevalence of mental health problems,
treatment and care, and the economic cost of mental health problems.
