You will work under the supervision of a lead Consultant Clinical Psychologist to maintain and develop a well-established programme of assessment and treatment on a 20-bed male mental illness unit. Key responsibilities include conducting clinical risk assessments and standardised cognitive assessments, facilitating psycho-educational group interventions, and offering individual therapy encompassing a CBT approach.

The unit requires someone with experience in working with complex patients with severe and enduring mental illness and/or offending behaviour. You will have extensive experience of analysing complex information/data sets and formulating clinical hypotheses as well as applying a broad range of psychological theories to the assessment and treatment to individual patients. With experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team you will also have experience of risk assessment and risk management.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelors Degree in Psychology (2:1 minimum) and a post-graduate degree in Psychology (Clinical, Counselling or Forensic) ideally with eligibility for chartered status with the BPS.
