Specialist Support Assistant - 37.5 hours per week

Details:
The Development Centre is a unique, multi-disciplinary environment
where young people with physical and learning disabilities are supported
to develop the required skills to move on to a lifestyle and location
of their choice.
We are seeking a Specialist Support
Assistant to work with individual clients who exhibit behavioural
or psychological conditions, for example autism, to facilitate their
participation in a range of activities such as cooking, shopping,
meal preparation and leisure activities. This rewarding position
will provide the opportunity to collaborate with other Centre staff
to capitalise on our clients’ existing skills and strengths
and learn new ones as part of a wider development programme.
Do you have:
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work on own initiative and as a team member
• Flexibility to work shifts and weekends, as required
• Ability to provide high quality personal care and support
• NVQ Level 3 or the ability to work towards, and achieve
this qualification
• Ability to drive, desirable
This post is on a fixed term contract
for 1 year, initially, and would suit a recently qualified Psychology
Graduate.
