Vacancy: Clinical Psychologist (Acquired Brain Injury Services)

Employer: Rehab UK, Birmingham Brain Injury Centre

Salary: £33-36k p.a., dependent on experience
50% of funding provided for postgraduate workshops and MSc/Diploma in clinical neuropsychology or psychological therapy training

Details: Rehab UK is a dynamic voluntary organisation providing vocational rehabilitation and training services to people with an acquired brain injury. www.rehabuk.org/ Registered Charity No: 1043839. The service is aimed at clients who have completed their medical rehabilitation but who are not yet ready, or need additional support, to enter or re-enter employment. For each client we develop an Individual Programme Plan, which will meet the psychological, cognitive, vocational and training needs of that client and identify realistic vocational options.

An enthusiastic qualified clinical psychologist with experience in post-acute brain injury services is required to provide psychology input into a regional centre of vocational rehabilitation for working-aged survivors of ABI. You will work alongside other psychologists, job coaches and skills tutors as part of a multi-disciplinary team, and liaising closely with local NHS ABI services and disability employment advisors in Jobcentre Plus.

Your main duties will include the provision of individual psychological therapy and cognitive rehabilitation interventions based on careful neuropsychological assessment and psychological formulation. You will oversee the psychoeducational group sessions within the programme, and provide supervision and psychological consultation to assistant and occupational psychology colleagues, and act as clinical lead for the team.
